LG Optimus One Review

If you are consulting mobile phone reviews to find a new phone, why not consider the LG Optimus One.  This is an affordable handset for those who have been looking for a mid-range Android phone.  It is equipped with Android 2.2 and is being marketed as a sat-nav device as well as a mobile phone, which should appeal to those who spend a lot of time on the move.

The phone is user-friendly and those who are familiar with Android will have no problems at all in using it.  Those who are new to the system will find that the interface is easy to use.  Functions such as the address book and menu for text messages, are all available at the bottom of the screen.  This applies to all the home screens, so no matter where you are in the operating system you can access these functions quickly and easily.  You can also access menus no matter where you are in the system.

As a sat-nav, the unit makes use of Google Maps and is comparable to other sat-navs on the market.  Internet access is via Wi-Fi, or you could use a mobile broadband dongle.  As a media player, the LG Optimus One has fared well in mobile phone reviews as it supports a number of different file types, and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.  Music can be downloaded easily by connecting the phone to a computer or by accessing the internet, and downloading directly.

A Review of the LG Optimus 7

New Windows 7 Smartphones have been causing quite a bit of excitement, and for good reason.  These phones, like the LG E900 Optimus, are some of the best phones on the market right now.  This also means that they probably have the highest price tags.  Before buying any of the new LG mobile phones, research the Internet for mobile phone reviews and look for the best mobile phone deals.

The LG E900 Optimus 7 is a stylish new Windows Smartphone that looks great and works great.  An amazing touch screen takes up the majority of the front of this mobile phone, which is a nice 3.8 inch size with 16 million Colour TFT technology.  The smooth light texture on the casing makes this phone very comfortable to hold and use.  The back of the phone has a discreet camera lens, and the top and bottom edges have a slight curve. There is a virtual keypad that will automatically display when needed and all of this mobile phone’s features are controlled with finger movements on the screen.

The LG Optimus 7 runs on Microsoft Windows 7 operating system with 3G HSDPA technology.  It has 512 MB of RAM 512 MB of ROM, an exceptional 16 MB of internal memory, and if that’s not enough, there is a micro USB port to connect this phone to other devices. It also has WiFi technology, instant messaging capabilities, music and video playback, a 5 megapixel camera with automatic focus, email, GPS, and games. LG Optimus Mobile Phone Review

The first in a line of LG Optimus phones is the Optimus.  Running on Google’s Android system, it offers a very sharp 3-inch display screen.  Even though the screen is very basic, it does come with widgets, icons, and a home screen of web pages.

The Optimus phone has a very basic camera, with only 3 megapixels.  The camera does have a number of settings including smile shot, blink detection, and optical zoom; it does not have a flash.  It also offers black and white, negatives, sepia (brown), and negative sepia.  You can also crop pictures, set RGB levels, and change the sharpness of a picture.

Two music players that come pre-loaded offer the standard features, just with different skins.  There is a 3.5mm headphone jack, so you can use your own headphones.

One big feature with the Optimus is how fast its browser loads web pages.  The browser comes with a task bar that makes it easy to go forward, backward, or refresh a page.

One big drawback is that the Optimus has a resistive screen.  This makes typing very difficult compared to other mobile phones.  Also, the screen is not pinch/zoom-friendly.  Another drawback is that it runs on Android 1.6 and cannot run newer apps, some of which became available with version 2.0 or greater.

Deals start at 18 months, 100 minutes, 500 texts, and a free handset for 20 pounds – without a discount.

LG GM205 Review

Posted on 13th November 2010 by regulars in LG,Mobile Phone Reviews,Mobile Phones

While the LG GM205 may appear to be nothing more than a basic, bare bones handset with some basic music playing capabilities, there is much more to this phone than meets the eye.  A few key features set this phone apart, and therefore it should not be overlooked as just another one of the many cheap mobile phones.

What’s most notable about the GM205 is the feel of the unit as a whole.  While it is encased in plastic, and the entire unit weighs just less than 3 ounces, the handset still feels rugged and capable of taking a beating.  While the overall strength of the unit is decent, the features which really stand out are the musical features of the phone.  The MP3 player and FM Radio have their own dedicated buttons on the side of the handset.  In addition, the mobile sports a powerful 2.1 channel sound system on its back.  The overall audio quality of both voice calls as well as the MP3 speaker is excellent, especially considering the overall cost and design of the unit.

With service plans as little as £10 a month for the LG GM205, for those simply looking to make calls, send text messages, and not have to carry a second MP3 device, the LG GM205 goes above and beyond.  Those looking for advanced features, e-mail and web content simply need to look elsewhere.  This is an excellent mobile phone for those looking to contract mobile phones cheaply, despite the lack of features many might feel are necessary.

LG has released details on the latest in the Viewty range – the GM360 Snap. Like all the Viewty range it is designed with the point and click photo market in mind. Recording those evenings out with friends and taking holiday pictures as you lounge around the beach and bars has never been easier.

LG, aware that people like to share their photos, have included a very easy to use, one touch system for uploading pictures onto social networks like Facebook and Flickr.

Although the details are still a little thin on the ground, it is hoped that the specifications will match when you compare mobile phones with the other new LG Viewty GT400 Smile. This has the same 3-inch screen and a 240 x 400 pixel resolution, along with Bluetooth 2.1 music player, FM radio, and 100MB of internal memory. The Snap GM360 in comparison has 2MG of internal memory and the same camera and multimedia features.

The LG Pop is part of the range of LG mobile phones and is perfect for those on a budget.  It has a touch screen and is a small, light handset that can fit easily into any pocket.  LG have still managed to fit a three inch screen onto the phone and the silver finish gives the handset an elegant look.  As a space saver, there is only one button on the front of the phone which covers a whole range of functions.  On the side of the phone there are buttons for the camera, volume and also a power button.

The phone is an eco-friendly handset, made from components that are hazard free and recyclable and it tells you when the battery is completely charged so you do not need to leave it plugged in, consuming further energy.

There are several home screens to choose from and the three megapixel camera is ideal for both images and videos.  The phone will support a memory card of up to 8GB to give you plenty of storage space for images or music.  The phone has an in-built music player for those who like to listen on the move and the quality of sound is quite good.  Email can be easily synchronised for checking on the move and connecting to the internet is very straightforward.
